Hey Taxxi!

Taxis..the drives that are known for expensive fares  that take you to limited distance (well,  in case of Nepal) that comes with nice and comfortable drives. Who wouldn't wanna travel in a taxi? Actually who are the people that use taxi? I may have some answers for it below: 1.        People who would want a hassle free ride rather than a sophisticated and a packed local bus. 2.        People who always like to show up in time without constant stopping in bus stations every 5 minutes. 3.        People who are well, always late or a last minuter. 4.        People who are classy enough to not take a local bus. 5.        People who simply love to travel in taxi. As much as taxis are necessary and come in handy, taxi safety is an important issue that is often over looked until a tragic event comes across ...

The Old Way - The Rickshaw Way

Travelling in different and unique ways  is  more exciting  than always doing the usual. One of the more interesting and good ways to get around in the cities is by riding a Rickshaw.  Rickshaw rides are safe and perfect for trips that are too far to walk, or too far to drive. They are environmentally friendly and gives an unforgettable experience in a street legal, human - powered vehicle. Rickshaws give their passsegers a street - level  view of the places around the cities. Rickshaw is that portion of the tour which allows you to give a little taste of life in the city as your rickshaw driver pedals through the old narrow streets. Rickshaws are pulled by bicyles and mostly human effort to move around. Wonder what a rickshaw driver goes through a day because not all passengers travel single and not all passengers are skinny as the drivers wish they would be!  I too used to travel in rickshaws when i was a little kid and i vaguely remember the e...

A Metro Bus

One of the greatest struggles for people around the kathmandu valley is to get local transportation for their day to day activities. With increased number of people and less number of vehicles, a comfortable and hassle free ride to your destination seems almost impossible.   You'll hardly get a seat that too if you're lucky enough. With all the hustle -bustle and people forging inside the vehicles in a quick pace, you literally have to fight for yourself to save a seat and trust me the struggle is REAL - me being the daily victim. The local means of transportation for daily commuters in a developing country like Nepal are micro - buses, mini - vans, tempos, local buses and lately 'Mahanagar Yaatayat'. Mahanagar Yaatayat Company Pvt. Ltd is a premium Metro bus company that has launched dozens of metro city buses in Kathmandu lately. It has launched 39 high-tech metro buses that currently run in the Ring Road, aiming to set a trend in metro transportation in Nepa...
